Welcome to MAT, metropolitan Omaha's public transit system.

MAT is responsible for the operation of fixed route, express / commuter bus ("BUS") downtown weekday rush hour and Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") Complementary Paratransit Service ("MOBY") within the city limits of Omaha ("OMAHA"), Douglas County, NE.

In addition, MAT has "turn-key" contracts with five contiguous political jurisdictions ("CITIES") for the operation of as part of the MAT bus system: 1) in Nebraska: Ralston, LaVista, Bellevue, Papillion; and 2) in Iowa - Council Bluffs (Pottawattamie County). NOTE: 1) Contracted Nebraska bus services are express / commuter; 2) Contracted Iowa bus service is fixed route operating only on major arterials; and, 3) Contracted Cities are responsible for the operation of their ADA complementary paratransit services.

    Customer Service Hours:
    6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
    7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Saturday
    7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday
When you call, have a pencil and paper ready to record your trip information. Tell the Customer Service Operator where your trip starts, your destination and the times you want to arrive and return.

Lost and Found: While MAT is not responsible for lost or stolen items, the buses / vans are checked daily. Property will be held at MAT for 30 days and "unless rightfully claimed" with the thirty (30) days after being found, all non-perishable property found on buses or on other MAT premises will be deemed to be abandoned by the owner and will become the property of MAT, to be disposed of as MAT determines to be appropriate. Please call MAT's Customer Service Department for items left on a bus or MOBY vehicle.
